The setting and styling here are fantastic, but the unusual proportions of the model's perceived lower body to her upper body is both disquieting and removes her face from the fullness of detail such a wonderfully textured piece should have. I find myself wanting to see her face more, and the (very well lit) folds of fabric making the frame so far away become a visual frustration. I wonder if perhaps the photographer was too low? That said, the fabric is very well lit and deliciously textured, and the contrast of the rough wall with the falls of the gown and matte fan are very palatable.

The pose suggests to me a kind of illness, and I find myself wracking my brain for why Amaterasu would be portrayed such. Props on the use of Amaterasu, though. I didn't think anyone else knew her! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)" />

Wonderful richness in lighting, and gorgeous choice of background. I love the imbalance of the highlight behind her in contrast with her own lean.
